Urgent help

πŸ›‘ Someone is on your computer right now, or asking you to pay?

It's probably a scam. Do these first, right now:

  1. Hang up the phone, even if they say they're from Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, your bank or the government.
  2. Don't pay anything, and never with gift cards, wire transfers or crypto. Real companies never ask for that.
  3. Turn off the Wi-Fi or unplug the internet box, so they can't stay connected.
  4. Don't log into your bank on that computer until it's checked.

Then call me. I'll help you check the computer, remove what they installed, and secure your accounts.

⚑ Need help today?

Internet down and you work from home? Locked out of your email? A device you need today stopped working?

Call or text me. A phone call is the fastest way. If I can come today, I'll come today.

What's going on?

Tap your problem. See what I do and what it costs.

No surprises: you'll know the starting price before I arrive, and nothing extra happens without your OK.

Try it: why is the Wi-Fi bad in that room?

Drag the router. Watch the signal change.

Walls, floors and distance eat Wi-Fi. Most "slow internet" at home is really the router in the wrong spot, or a house that needs a second access point. This is the kind of thing I map out on a visit.

Signal in each room

A simplified model for illustration. On a visit I measure your real signal room by room.

How it works

Three simple steps

1 Β· Call, text or book

Tell me what's wrong

A few words is enough. Not sure what the problem is? That's normal: I'll figure it out.

2 Β· I come to you

Fixed on your own devices

I work on your actual setup at home, explain what I'm doing, and check with you before anything costs more.

3 Β· You're confident

You try it before I leave

I make sure it works and that you know how to use it. Simple written notes if you'd like them.

Beyond fixes

Your own private home tech, built for you

I run my own home server and build my own smart-home gadgets. I can do the same for you, and it all stays in your home: your data, your devices, no monthly subscriptions.

Your own home server

Your photos, files and movies kept in your own home instead of someone else's cloud. Automatic backups, a private photo library, movies streaming to every TV, and ad-blocking for the whole house.

A smart home that stays home

Lights, cameras, locks and sensors that keep working without the internet and without subscriptions, with no company watching your cameras. On a server you already have, or one I build for you.

Custom-built gadgets

If it doesn't exist, I can build it. Like my automatic plant waterer: soil sensors, a pump and a web dashboard, all running locally. Tell me the problem and I'll design the fix.

A free 15-minute chat, then a clear written quote before any work.

About

Hi, I'm Noah.

I spent years in the telecom industry, most recently as a field technician with AT&T. I've been in hundreds of homes, and one thing was always true: even tech-savvy people struggle with today's devices. Every gadget has its own quirks, and simple things become frustrating fast.

So I started In-Home Tech Solutions: friendly, patient help for real people who just want their technology to work, and to understand it.

  • Honest, patient service
  • Plain words, no jargon
  • Fixes that work in your home
  • No pressure to buy anything

Questions

Good to know

What if I don't know what's wrong?

That's what I'm for. Tell me what you're seeing, even just "it's slow" or "it stopped working". I'll diagnose it on the visit and tell you the plan and the price before I start.

How does pricing work?

Do I pay extra to have new equipment set up?

No. Setting up a new device (a mesh Wi-Fi system, a streaming stick, a printer) is part of the visit price. The only extra is the device itself, if you need a new one. I'll recommend good-value options you can buy yourself, or I can pick it up for you and you just pay what it cost.

Should I back up my files first?

If we're working on a computer or phone, yes, please back up anything important (photos, documents) beforehand. If you're not sure how, that can be the first thing we do together.

How do I pay?

At the end of the visit, by card, debit, cash, Zelle or Venmo.

What if I need to cancel?

Can you help by phone instead of a visit?

Yes, for many problems: by phone or screen sharing, billed in 30-minute blocks.
